A word from the cook
Edamame is not always at supermarket. Health food or asian grocery stores generally have them.
Ingredients
1/2 tbspn coarse sea salt
500g frozen edamame
2 tbspn soy sauce
2 tbspn rice wine vinegar
1/2 tspn sesame oil
1 tspn honey
1 garlic clove minced
1 tspn black and white sesame seeds
1 tbspn scallion, chopped
Instructions
- Place edamame into a pot of boiling water and cook until tender – 4 minutes. You want to cook out the raw taste but not let them get mushy
- Immediately transfer with a slotted spoon into a bowl of cold water to stop the cooking
- Drain, pat dry and salt
- Prepare the dipping sauce by whisking the soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, honey, garlic and scallions
- Serve in small dipping bowl with the edamame
- Note – Don’t east the whole bean, just suck out the tender inside beans
